Subsustem
At top level everything considered as
navigation is available. HUGO stops acting like an insect
and starts to adapt to the surrounding environment.
HUGO can now choose how to go the shortest way from
present position to the destination.
All surrounding ground gets evaluated
and mapped in computer memory as well as a graphical
map to give the same information to the operator. There
is five obstacle classes representing the effort to
run over it. The most simple is off course horizontal
ground, represented by a black square at the map. The
classes then continue to a green spot, yellow and red
spot which HUGO considers to avoid at all costs. However
the toughest class would be the blue obstacle, for example
a wall. Blue boundaries can only be put on the map by
the operator, and that’s the only way to make
a “forbidden area” for HUGO that never will
be tried to run over or forced by power.
The operator can anytime edit the class
of any obstacle and change it by just clicking on the
map until done. HUGO will immediately adapt accordingly.
